About
Suburban Folk |
About |
|
The Story
Suburban Folk is a pop-rock band that
performs periodically in local venues of
the far western suburbs of Chicago. This
group was originally formed in 2003 as a
small family-oriented acoustic-based
project by brothers Dave and Brian
Tedeschi. Today, Suburban Folk has been
'electrified' and is a full electric band consisting of nine core members
that includes brothers, sisters,
daughters, and some old friends...along with a few new
friends too.
To enhance the live experience,
different guest members also perform
with the group from time to time,
including several talented local
singer-songwriters. "We wanted to
form a group that somehow included all
of the talented friends we had met over
the past thirty years", Brian
explains. "But of course that was
not possible because the band would be
too big."
The seed idea of a core group with invited
guests was all he needed to spark the
development of what ultimately has become Suburban
Folk.
"The real upside of our special guest performers is that it's a lot of fun for both the band and the audience too!"
The
Name
It
comes as no surprise to those who have
heard this band that Suburban Folk is
not a Folk group at all as the name may
suggest. This band is simply a group of
ordinary suburban folks that enjoy
having fun making music and performing
together while simultaneously escaping
from the often hectic pace of daily
life.
The People
